Sail Date: Oct 2022
Cabin: Spacious Ocean View Balcony

We have cruised in Royal Caribbean two times and the most recent time was not at all a good experience. There were various problems. We took the Oct 2-9, 2022 out of Boston to New England and Canada.

1.) The ports were beautiful but the excursions that we did were rushed and not as interesting as we had hoped. The timing was off for the reversing rapids so we were there twice during the excursion but did not witness any sort of reversing.

2.) The food quality has suffered greatly since our first cruise on RC. The best meal we had was on day one when, with The Key, we had a welcome lunch in the main dining room. After that, we were served greasy meals including "beef short ribs" that was just blobs of beef fat. Yuck!

Cabin Review

Spacious Ocean View Balcony

Cabin was fine and cabin attendant was great.

Port Reviews

Bar Harbor

A very pretty port that we self-toured. I did feel like it was a tourist trap set up with super-expensive shopping for the most part.

Boston

We went to Boston a day early to tour the city. Our flights, booked through Royal Caribbean got changed to much later in the day, so we had very little time to sightsee. That was a disappointing waste of a hotel stay.

Portland (Maine)

This was another pretty port. We did the land and sea tour. The sea portion was amazing. The land portion was dull.

Saint John (New Brunswick)

This port and tour was interesting but I felt rushed. I'd rather do fewer items and do them well instead of trying to do everything and not feeling like we really had time to do anything. Long bus rides! My husband and many others fell asleep on the bus.
