I booked this cruise prior to March 2022 getting a last minute deal of $5500USD including flights. It was postponed to November 2022. The cruise was supposed to finish in Manaus Brazil & visit Devil’s Island. A few weeks before I got a trip alert on my portfolio telling me of the changes. My main reason for booking this cruise was to visit the above.

At the first night on the cruise at the briefing questions were asked about why were not going to Manaus & Devils island but the responses from the cruise director on behalf of Vantage were subsequently found to be not accurate & was a suspicion Vantage wasn’t telling us the whole story nor telling us when they knew. The cruise director said there had been riots & kidnappings but this occurred in Peru. She also said low river levels yet other cruise ships were planning to go up the Amazon.

We had 102 passengers onboard out of a capacity of 175. The ship is very nice,more luxurious than the big cruise ships. The food in the restaurant was on a par with the food on Vantage’s europe river cruises. The service in the restaurant ranged from ok to bad.The recommended tipping at $20USD per person per day is steep considering there wasn’t more service than a cruise ship. I think at the price I paid $5500 for 22 night was about right for what it was worth. Don’t pay full price as not worth the money. If you want a premium cruise experience go with other cruise lines.
