Sail Date: Sep 2022

Having cruised with RCCI since 2002, and now at Diamond membership level, we've noticed the deterioration in quality of service and amenities, however in 2021 we sailed twice on Anthem of the Seas. Even though the ship was only at 25% capacity, we had a pretty good time, the staff were friendly and cheerful and it was very pleasant.

This prompted a decision to sail on Anthem again, to the Canary Islands. What a mistake that was.

The ship is great, but had not been equipped to cope with full passenger capacity (for some reason).

Port Reviews

Madeira (Funchal)

Pretty, different and friendly. This was one of our more enjoyable shore excursions.

Lanzarote

This is not a place I enjoy and we wandered around but didn't really get much from the experience.

Lisbon

Pleasant place marred by the many beggars and people who appeared to be starving to death by the roadside.

Tenerife

Friendly place with pleasant people.
