Sail Date: Nov 2022
Cabin: Extended Balcony

When it came to choose this trip, my son said he wanted to see Mayan Ruins. I got to pick the ship. While looking, I saw that this was the 2nd sailing of the Celebration out of the US, which immediately spiked my interest. I loved the Mardi Gras, and figured I would love this one as much.

Embarkation was the best I have ever had. I did arrive about 15 minutes early, went into the Early line, and was basically able to walk right through. Was upstairs in the holding area in under 15 minutes (including getting our pictures taken). Once onboard, I went to the bar in Grand Central, got my first drink, then we made our way to our muster station. Once again, we were done in a matter of minutes. We grabbed some lunch, then proceeded to walk around the ship to get our bearings before we were able to get into our stateroom. Our bags arrived just after 130, allowing us to unpack quickly.

Sailaway was a blast, Lee, the cruise director, displaying his abundance of never ending energy.

Extended Balcony

We had an extended balcony on deck 10, in the curve over Grand Central. Never heard any noise from GC, or our neighbors. Like the extended balcony, but felt like it was wasted space. Would love to have something else out there instead of two chairs, a small table and tons of space. I could have brought an air mattress and slept out there.

I thought the bed was a little stiff, but that's to be expected as I was only the 3rd person to sleep in it.

The room was long, which was nice, but maybe only a foot from the bed was the wall, maybe. It was very tight. The TV was massive though, much bigger then I have had in other staterooms. We also had a sofa that was next to the door to the balcony.

I am not sure when they changed this, but I love the balcony doors. Instead of a traditional slider, they are a slider with suction closure. The door handle moves up and down to seal it, which I think really helps with the sound.
