This was a four night Thanksgiving cruise out of San Francisco to Ensenada. Despite having 4,000 passengers aboard, 1,300 crew - service was good and all my complaints and issues were promptly and satisfactorily resolved. Last year, I took the Ruby Princess Thanksgiving Cruise out of San Francisco, with only 1,300 passengers aboard.
While I prefer a smaller ship, I think the crew of Royal Princess did a good job handling the passenger over capacity during this cruise. Princess does a good job and Royal Princess is a nice ship, even if it is larger sized than my preference.
While the Medallion App didn't always work as designed, crew were able to assist me to book Crown Grill and Sabatini's Specialty Restaurants, despite supposedly being over booked. Cabin service for Marina Mini Suite 208 was great (thank you, Albert!). Food service was excellent in Allegro Dinning Room, Concerto Dinning Room and the Speciality Restaurants (Sabatini's and Crown Grill).
Marina Deck, cabin 208 - This is a mini suite with separate living room area with sofa, two chairs and desk. The bedroom area was comfortable, queen size bed with nice pillows. Bathroom included tub and was larger than balcony stateroom. Plenty of room to store personal amenities. Balcony was small but still enjoyable for a few hours during sea days.
