Firstly, it has been a while since we took this trip and it is really saddening to see that the issues we raised both on the ship and afterwards continue to persist from reading the more current reviews. The problems with the spa being a death trap, the lack of space in the changing rooms, the issues booking entertainment, speciality dining, etc. etc. were all issues we experienced back in September. I wrote a 4 page complaint to NCL (there seriously were that many issues) immediately after disembarking and we still haven’t had a response from them. I guess they are somewhat inundated with complaints about this vessel.
It was very cold in the North Atlantic, therefore the outside areas were not accessible to us. However, we had a strong suspicion that even with sunnier climes that there wasn’t enough communal space on the ship to accommodate the number of passengers. Again, sadly this seems to be the case. You will struggle to find adequate access to a number of the resources on here, as the capacity is nowhere near enough to meet the demand of this number of passengers. For example, the only way we could gain access to the shows was through another passenger who was in the haven and took pity on us and got us into the two shows we wanted to see. The same goes for speciality dining, be prepared to run around frantically booking tables on your first day if you have a dining package. Forgot about the events in the smaller venues, unless your idea of fun is queuing up with a bunch of unhappy and disgruntled passengers for hours on end.
Resist the urge to use the spa. Nothing works, it’s overcrowded, slippery and dangerous. The changing room is the size of a large broom cupboard and unless you like being catapulted across a (tiny) room every time the door opens, then you’ll find yourself getting changed over a urinal, which wasn’t quite the luxury cruise experience we expected.
