Who we are - couple in 50's and kids 18 & 22. We have been to several Caribbean Islands, including a couple AI's, but this is our first cruise. We are from the D.C. area & are so probably have pretty high standards for food.
Getting to Port We flew in to FLL the same day & had no problems. Took a 7:30 am flight to allow for delays or cancellations. Took a cab to the port - about $14 for the 4 of us, much cheaper than paying for Princess transfers.
Embarkation & Bon Voyage program We had signed up some Florida friends for the Bon Voyage program. The people at check in were a little confused about this & we had to ask several before being pointed in the right direction. However, then we got priority boarding, which was great. We and our friends had a short tour of the ship & then a very nice lunch in the dining room. (Later we saw the rest of the passengers in a long line at the buffet.) Definitely recommend this if you have friends nearby the port.
