We boarded the ship after they had returned from another cruise with 700 - 800 COVID cases on board. Because of this we were delayed boarding for about 4 hours during which time they thoroughly cleaned the ship while keeping us informed by text messages. Credit to Princess for this as to my knowledge we had no or very few cases on our cruise.

Boarding was a little chaotic due to the delay but we were on board via green lane within 40 minutes.

As to the ship and facilities, being a fairly new ship everything presented very well with no obvious signs of wear and tear anywhere although the decor was not to my taste as obviously aimed at the Asian market (lots of gold).

Cabin Review

Deluxe Balcony

I thought the cabin was slightly smaller than a similar grade cabin on Celebrity ships but it was comfortable enough. Bed was very comfortable but I thought the bathroom was smaller than other ships we have been on. Sower pressure was good but very restricted water flow compared to some other ships we have been on. Hanging space in the walk in wardrobe area was great with lots of wooden hangers provided. One down side of all these wooden hangers was that in even mildly rough weather the empty ones swing back and forth and tap against the inside of the wardrobe wall. very distracting when you are trying to sleep but easily fixed by throwing them all on the floor!

The balcony was very small and really just enough room for two chairs and a very small table. The cabin was in very good condition with no obvious wear and tear. The 55" flat screen smart TV was great with lots of on-demand movies and access to other on-board information.

We had our 7 year old daughter travelling with us who used the fold out sofa bed and the design of this did cause some issues. When open you cannot access the vanity table or bar fridge. In addition, to access the balcony or curtains when it is open you need to climb over the bed which completely blocks the balcony doors.

Port Reviews

Melbourne

Its' Melbourne and it was raining but the zoo was interesting

Port Arthur

A very interesting place to visit but not with 3000 other people. The place simply can't handle that many people at one time.

Hobart

Interesting to just walk around as the ship docks in the heart of the city next to Constitution Dock. Can recommend the Greyhound 90 minute (actually 2 hours) city tour. Well worth the $30.
