My husband and I are from S. Africa and wanted to go to the Caribbean so we settled on Celebrity Equinox. This was in 2019 in December shortly before Covid hit the world. we did two back to back cruises on the Equinox and absolutely loved every minute. From the early morning gym sessions and jacuzzi, to the wonderful breakfast buffets (the French toast with orange butter and cream is to die for. we want to do another cruise just for the French toast. The Apple Pie is also amazing). The shows were magnificent and we even made friends with the Beatles impersonators who did several shows. we really appreciated the dance lessons, excursions, friendliness of the staff, excellent food etc. what was also admirable was how seamless and well organised the transitions (for passengers doing back to back cruises) and baggage transfers were.

I cant say the same about the Mediterranean MSC Divina cruise was that we had done 5 years earlier. Even though the food was excellent and the excursions were magnificent it was the attitude of MSC office based management in S. Africa as well as their headquarters that was off putting to us. We experienced such unprofessionalism and high handedness from management regarding our credit card queries once the holiday was over that this was the reason that we never did another trip on MSC cruises again and never will. it took them 6 months to resolve our issues. however, the hostility and aggression with which senior management dealt with was astounding and so unbecoming of anyone who is in the hospitality industry.

There is never a weekend that goes by that we don't reminisce about Celebrity's French toast and apple pie. we tried so hard to make it ourselves but the taste is not the same. We cant wait to go back on another cruise on Celebrity.
