Check Before You Book. The Mississippi River is at all time lows. We understand that. A few days before our departure, we received an email saying that we would have to bus from Memphis to Vicksburg. That is a 4 hour ride. The bad thing is, the cruise line never offered to compensate for this.

The food left a little to be desired but the dessert chef made up for that. The cruise was touted as being some kind of food and wine experience but not see much of that. The snack bar on the 4th floor was not so great but the small breakfast bar with coffee did the trick for something quick. Wine selection was ok and there is a great wine shop in Vicksburg if you want something special. Good bartenders on both ends of the 4th floor. And the 4th floor would be my choice again for rooms on the Jazz.

Tours and stops were really good. The tour bus drivers are great and probably best for local advice. (tip them) Lots of history along the river. Read more
