I would rate this cruise a step below Carnival. This was our first (and last) cruise on Virgin. Lots of things lacking including a door on our cabin bathroom and any kind of variety of entertainment. The food was good in some restaurants but their 24 hour place, The Galley, left a lot to be desired. This is the closest they have to a buffet so you sit and order from a very limited menu, and if you're lucky, your order will be entered and you will receive your food. On a few occasions, our order was lost and had to be resubmitted. Others around us were experiencing the same thing. The musical entertainment consisted of a band and a solo guitar player. Both of these acts were very talented, however, every song the band played sounded exactly the same, and it was the same with the guitarist. There were two theater type shows; one was ok, and the other we didn't stay for because you had to stand for the duration (no sitting, 45-50 minutes they said). There were a couple of events that were supposed to be fun. We were looking forward to the Pajama Party but when we got the daily itinerary, we saw it was schedule for 11:00 at night, way too late for lots of passengers after a full day on board. The other even was Scarlet night where, of course, everyone is supposed to wear red. So we're all decked out in red but the party doesn't start until 10:45 at which time there was piped in music and dancing on the edge of the pool. Fun, I'm sure, for some. All in all, I can say this cruise line is not for us.

Cabin Review

As I mentioned, there was no door to the bathroom. Maybe that's ok with some, but definitely not for us. Also, the technology thing was a bit much. Everything is controlled by a table in the room which we found very inconvenient. I prefer a simple switch to turn on lights, and after 4 days, I still couldn't figure out the TV.
