We went on a transatlantic cruise to the Caribbean on board Marella Discovery2 in October / November 2022.
What was good about the cruise:
* The ship visited all the ports on the dates and times advertised.
Cabin Review
Excellent cabin, clean, large balcony with sunbeds, chairs and table. Lots of storage. Excellent staff maintaining standards
Port Reviews
Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)
Excellent safe cruise centre for shopping. We went on an organised tour to Porto Plata city. Interesting and safe with lots of tourist police evident.
Grand Turk
Sensational! Wonderful warm sea swimming amongst tropical fish. Bring your facemask and snorkel. 25$US for 2 sunbeds + umbrella + wifi
Gibraltar
Not for me. We had been before. Lots of high rise buildings. The cable car was good but watch out for the monkeys who are thieves!
Wonderful 6 day Atlantic crossing. Calm seas, trade wind sailing - hot sun, a few fleecy cumulus clouds. Watch the flying fish skimming across the sea. Seabirds when 100 miles out. A lot of varied shipboard entertainment available. Port side cabins get the sun.
