OK, I have read the previous reviews and yes this is a smaller, older ship that needs (and is scheduled for in 2024) refurbishment. As the cruise Director Dave noted "yes, we don't have all the bells and whistles of some of the newer ships, but we work hard to make up for it with excellent service and quality attention to detail". And he was dead on correct. Dave, by the way, was one of the most dynamic and entertaining cruise directors we have enjoyed on any of our 25 plus cruises.
The ship is very well maintained, the service by the staff and crew was beyond reproach. When the captain himself hits the stage at a deck party, with the world's smallest electric guitar, and belts out a vocal rendition of "Sweet Home Alabama" you can't deny that all the crew were striving to give their guests the best they could possibly deliver.
Our concierge attendant, Tatiana, did everything she could to keep our cabin in great shape. Our head waiter Tedi and his assistant Made, couldn't do enough to serve us at dinner. Zuou (hope the spelling is right), our Sommelier and her staff, always had our pre-dinner cocktail at our table within minutes of our arrival and treated us with a variety of vintages each evening. Food was as good as usual on Celebrity, and we were never tempted (probably much to Celebrity's chagrin) to visit any of the specialty restaurants.
A typical Celebrity Concierge cabin. Furnishings were a little dated, short on electrical sockets for phone chargers etc., smaller, counter (rather than wall-mounted) TV's, and air temperatures that were a little challenging to control. But very comfortable, lots of storage and excellent service from our room attendant.
Beautiful little island with great beaches. The beach at the end of the pier was wonderful, but bars, food service or change rooms. The vendor renting beach chairs and umbrella's way overcharges potential customers and deserves the small number of customers that he manages to find. Twice the cost of similar service in Grand Turk.
Great beach right at the end of the dock. Been there before and always enjoyed the island. Food, drinks, washrooms, changing facilities readily available.
Been there many times. Just walked around and visited some of the shops.
