I have been on a Viking River Cruise so Viking was my first choice for an ocean cruise. And the fact that it was a smaller, more intimate ship made it just what I was looking for...and the itinerary couldn't have been more spectacular.

Within a day, staff knew our names and by day 2 knew our drink preferences. Attention to detail was amazing. And the ship itself was aesthetically pleasing and very very clean! The cultural talks as well as meals geared to the port of call made the cruise even more interesting. Then the excursions, both those included and the extra ones, were all lead by guides with local knowledge.

The entertainment was very good and we could choose from a quiet acoustic guitarist in the forward lounge watching the ocean, or an evening of funny trivia with the cruise director who got us all laughing hysterically. Plus the bigger productions in the theater for those that wanted a later night venue.

Cabin Review

Clean as a whistle and very functional with plenty of storage space for two people. Plus, the ship had a free laundry on each floor so it was very easy to wash a few items if needed.

Our cabin had a veranda with a table and two chairs, perfect for having coffee or room service breakfast and watch coming in to a new port. Comfortable beds and pillows with cleaning service twice a day...what a luxury!
