I had never been on a river cruise and Viking was recommended to me. It was one of the best vacations I've ever taken. The room was beautiful and so comfortable - and felt spacious. The team of Viking staff was amazing. Our room steward was so attentive and always ready to fill any need. The staff in the dining room and lounge was friendly, caring and often anticipated what you wanted/needed. The program director and hotel manager were always around to help with anything needed - and to make sure we all got to where we needed and were back on the boat on time!

And the food was fantastic (and I'm a foodie). Each meal was fresh, deliciously prepared and expertly served. I felt completely pampered and taken care of.

While I've never been a fan of organized tours, the ones on Viking were planned and executed incredibly well. All of the guides were local and had great knowledge and insight. Read more
