My friend loves Viking so we had to give it a try. Now i know why she likes it so much. Ours was a small intimate ship. No small tables at dinner so you are forced to meet new people and make new friends. We would sit at a table with our new friends and a bottle of wine and talk for hours. I loved sitting on the top deck and watching the river landscape go by. The excursions were very interesting. I especially loved Monet’s garden. Omaha beach was quite moving. I loved the fact that no one was trying to sell us anything like on the big ocean cruisers. It was a great trip, quiet, relaxing and interesting. The food and wine were wonderful and appropriate for the area in which we were. Viking was fantastic and we are already looking for which Viking river cruise is next.
