Having lost our spouses in recent years, my cousin and I decided to take a Viking River Cruise together. And we decided to go all the way, with the Grand European Tour, and a pre-cruise extension in Prague. The trip was unforgettable; exceptional in every way. I have never worked with a company that is better organized and more dedicated to customer service than Viking. Of course, it was expensive, the most I've ever paid in a lifetime of travel, but was so worth it. We are already looking forward to our next Viking cruise.

We purchased our airfare through Viking, which I would recommend because we got an excellent deal on our business class flights, and because using Viking for airfare includes transfers, which can be essential to making a trip go smoothly. Our premium hotel in Prague was beautiful and accommodating, the included breakfasts were fabulous, and a Viking representative was always there to answer our questions. Our bus ride to Budapest to board our ship was pleasant and uneventful.

The two-week cruise flew by. We were pampered by the crew and treated to wonderful meals and cocktails. We enjoyed spending time with the other like-minded passengers. Our program director Anthony was delightful, had an answer for every question, and appeared to work 24-hours a day! The onboard entertainment and presentations and the daily excursions were fun and informative, but in many ways, the real treat was relaxing and enjoying the ambiance and scenery aboard the ship.
