Wanted to visit parts of Italy we had seen before and added southern France and Barcelona. Weather impacted two days of excursions but the staff offered reasonable alternatives with very short notice. Food on board was excellent in the main restaurants. We did not get to sample the Chef’s Table nor Manfrddi’s specialty restaurants because they were fully booked before we could make a reservation. Rooms were clean and roomy for a cruise cabin. Maid service was excellent. Bought the Silver Sippers package so we sampled several wines and drinks onboard. All were very good. Other travelers were very friendly and very sociable. Excursions marked as moderate were occasionally more challenging that expected due to the number and type of steps and hills in the sites. All were very entertaining but like the specialty restaurants, the most popular excursions were sold out before we could make a reservation. Viking would be smart to add additional busses for their most popular excursions. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our tour with Viking.
