Well it all started rather badly. We were booked in for our 'medical' at Sydney Cruise terminal at 12 noon. We were told NOT to arrive early and being responsible people arrived on time. Only to be greeted by around 3000 other people all trying to get on the ship at the same time. It was chaos! One poor guy was going around with a hand held speaker trying to get people moving, but nobody could hear a word he was saying. After about an hour of pushing and shoving (and I was on a crutch) we finally managed to get into the place to be processed and from there it was smooth sailing to get on the ship.

Now we have been on about 7 cruises with Celebrity and had been on the Eclipse a few years back. This time was a bit different, in that I had bid (using the bid up system) on Aqua Class. Happy to say we got the upgrade. I know many want to know how much to bid so I will tell you our circumstances. We paid around $6000 for a balcony cabin and I bid and extra $1500 and scored the upgrade. So we paid around $7500 which normally would have cost around $10,500. Was it worth it? Yes & no.

There is NO WAY that it was worth $10,500 but it WAS worth it for $7500!
