Hurtigruten sailings Bergen to Bergen are a relaxed way in a small ship of experiencing many many small ports up and down the Norwegian coast . No stop is longer than 3 hours most a lot less so little chance of exploring any of it to any depth but enough to get a good overview for further exploration . Some extra excursions supplied but several did not run for weather or lack of numbers reasons. These were costly.
Trips at this time of year have the advantage of witnessing the Northern lights which we had on our bucket list of things we must do and we’re lucky enough to see gloriously.
It is not sold as a cruise thus formal clothing and entertainment not required or offered . Plenty of self generated games possible and space to play/tables them on or simply relax and read a book between stops. Scenery lovely and food superb with plenty of options for those with different requirements.
Our cabin 354 on deck 3 was pretty midships so good stability . It had 2 beds one of which could be folded to a sofa and a large window sadly grubby on outside making any photos tricky . Small bathroom was perfectly adequate with good shower. Little time spent there so perfectly adequate for sleep and pretty quiet on the starboard side making middle night time stops Un disturbing
