A cruise is usually fun and this was no exception BUT, Holland has changed and not for the better. We had 160 days on HAL prior to the pandemic so we were pretty familiar with the line and this ship.

The room was the room and it was fine as usual, it could use a little maintenance as things are starting to look a little tired but still a minor concern, the steward did a good job and the room was clean. Maintenance on the ship seems to not be a priority things look a little tired and there is way more visible rust, there was water leaking in the lido. Again relatively minor but still a departure from the past where even 30 year old ships were impeccably maintained. They seemed to have a lot issues with wifi, the room tv's and other tech to the point even the piano folks in the billboard at one point were playing from memory because they couldn't get the internet to work to load music.

Let's start with the good. The music was good in BB kings, Billboard, and the Lincoln center that remains unchanged and one of the better things that HAL has done. Some of the staff is still very good. The food at the Pinnacle is still pretty good.

Port Reviews

Cozumel

Cozumel is a great port, lots to see an do plus very easy to get a cab despite a gazillion boats being in port.

Half Moon Cay

So much potential, it has a great beach but the place is in disrepair. The lunch service was kind of a circus. There are limited facilities but what is there should be in good functioning order. Nothing sadder than seeing a bunch of toddlers using the splash pad only for it to stop working while kids are playing on it and no one can get it working or even cares to find someone who can fix it.

Ocho Rios

Jamaica is beautiful but it doesn't feel as safe nor does it have the tourist infrastructure of other ports.
