My wife and I LOVE the 'small ship cruising' concept. We chose this particular American Cruise for the simple fact that we could DRIVE there. We didn't have any expectations for the itinerary (American Revolution & Chesapeake Bay) and were we pleasantly surprised! This itinerary was 'excursion rich' - especially in Norfolk, D.C., Jamestown/Williamstown & Annapolis. American Cruise Line also takes pride in recognizing their veterans and there were over 20 HEROES on this ship - including several crew members!

There are two very important reasons why this cruise line is so great - the PASSENGERS and the CREW! For ten days we were our own floating village that felt like "friends and family." The crew couldn't be more accommodating - ESPECIALLY for the few passengers that had some mobility challenges. I saw some impressive examples of 'above and beyond' service, especially at the direction of the ship's GM, Torren Colcord (also an Army veteran!). He went out of his way to maximize the guest's individual experience.

No one is a stranger for long with the inclusive open seating dining that encourages mingling with many large tables. The stories of the individual people are fascinating which is why, at the end of the day, the memories are about the people you meet.
