Having not sailed with Azamara before we thought we'd give them a try on a weeks cruise from Monte Carlo to Rome. We have been cruising for many years but this was our first cruise with a premium cruise line. We were not disappointed.
We chose to use Azamara's flight and transfer service and this worked really well. We did have an issue when checking in on the quay side as our room keys weren't there. They said it would be sorted on the ship which it was but not before security held us whilst they worked out how to let us on without keys.
Once onboard we went straight to the muster drill which happens in small groups as soon as you get on. We were provided with glass of fizz and the drill was over in no time. As it was before 2pm our room wasn't ready so we had a wander about and got ourselves a coffee from Mosaics. The coffee and cakes are great from there and it would become a regular haunt for us as our cabin was close by.
Cabin Review
Club Oceanview Stateroom (obstructed view)
We had an obstructed view outside cabin on deck 6. Whilst the cabin was on the small side and had little natural light due to the lifeboat being right outside the window it was fairly well appointed and kept very clean and tidy. It suited us as it was a very port intensive cruise so we spent little time in the cabin. The shower however is tiny. The bath robes were really big but the towels were really small. Fortunately beach towels were provided in the room as well so we used those. If there was more time at sea then we would go for a higher spec cabin.
