Friends had already booked and begged us to go. Started out badly at So Hampton. Covid protocol email from Celebrity said we needed to self test 2 days and show a picture of the negative test. Whe n we arrived we were told that a later email was sent out saying we had to show proof of a supervised test. Hundreds of very unhappy people were sent over to another room to get tested at $100 each. I believe Celebrity owes my wife and me $200. After that unnecessary screw up by Celebrity, checking in and getting to our stateroom was easy. Some one else's luggage was brought to our room, but that was quickly corrected. Met our room attendant (Gusti) who was superb the entire trip. In fact the entire ship's staff was the high lite of the entire cruise. The main dining room (the Cuvee) was the low lite. The prime rib was tough, the Chateaubriand was tasteless and poorly prepared. The only good meat was the brisket. The lobster bisque was tomato soup with a small piece of bread. The French onion soup was consume with a small sliver of onion, but the cheese was good. I could go on but after 4 very sub par meals we never returned and ate all the rest of our meals at the Ocean View Cafe, where for the most part the food was much better. I would suggest that you have someone from your go in as a guest. We did eat one night in the Tuscan and the meal was excellent. Except for a couple of bright spots the entertainment was mediocre. Getting off in Miami was another fiasco. Getting off started at 0700. Our time was 0800. We got to the theater at 0750 and found that no one had left yet. Finally about 0840 the asst. entertainment director came in and apologized and said that immigration was backed up. We finally got in the immigration line about 1000 with our luggage. Immigration said the delay was the fault of Celebrity, then to the shuttle that we paid for. Now it is about 1100. Took an hour to get to Miami airport. The driver let us out at what he said was United. It was at the farthest end of the airport from United check in. Now it is 1200 when we get to United. Then through TSA security. We got to our United gate at 1300. Luckily we had a 1355 flight time. So 5 hours from the ship to our flight gate, most of the time due to the incompetence of Celebrity. Worst cruise experience. My previous Celebrity and Princess cruise were excellent. The friends we went with and we will probably try a different line next time.
