HARMONY OF THE SEAS - GOOD, NOT GREAT!
Our trip began in Tallahassee on October 29th as we drove to Orlando for a 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruise. We stopped in Gainesville and enjoyed a great breakfast at the Metro Dinner on Archer Road. We stayed at the Hampton Inn ($170/night) in Orlando near the airport (a 45-minute drive to the port). On Sunday, October 30th, we left the hotel at 9:00 am and drove to Port Canaveral.
We arrived at 10:00 a.m. for an 11:30 check-in time. The embarkation process was very efficient and well staffed. Everyone lined up by boarding time outside of the terminal (out of the sun) and around 10:45 am passengers began entering the terminal. Once boarding began, passengers were called by Crown and Anchor status. Until boarding began everyone sat in chairs inside the terminal. While waiting in the terminal, I was able to access the ship’s internet and use the Royal Caribbean App to reserve our entertainment times. We also completed the safety videos before boarding. TIP: It is extremely important to reserve show times and to schedule your “My Time” dinner reservations as soon as you board the ship. We talked to numerous passengers that did not follow this tip and were very disappointed in their inability to dine or attend shows when they wanted.
