We choose this cruise because we have travelled with Hurtigruten twice before: the Norway coastal ferry route & Greenland Expedition. We loved both previous cruises for different aspects and were curious how they would do a South American coastal cruise.

This cruise was modified the last minute because Peru wouldn't allow ships in if that had a single covid case aboard. Hurtigruten offered full refunds or 50% discount if you choose to continue. We choose to continue. While the local countries did NOT allow any ship lead excursions and forced us to use local guides, Hurtigruten did its best to allow a separate cultural excursion & outdoor hiking type of excursion.

The crew was always making us feel like family and constantly tried to make everyone feel special. I for one loved all the lectures on Birds, Marine, Mammals, Environmental Science, Weather, and general Country information. The expedition crew's passion for their subjects was energizing.

Cabin Review

Excellent. We had nice well designed space, free laundry service, included bar items and daily turndown.
