Sail Date: Oct 2022

We originally booked this cruise for a group of 10 pre covid that was rescheduled 4 times. We were traveling from literally all over the world and were supposed to be on Carnival Freedom but Carnival changed our ship about 3 moths prior to the cruise.

We had last sailed on spirit in Australia in December 2019 and enjoyed the ship/entertainment and crew, but unfortunately it appears that post-covid Carnival have really left Spirit to rot, not staffed properly and don't seem to care either. It felt as though they had just chucked bare minimum staff at it, from anywhere they could find to make some money, and it showed. The ship needs serious maintenance everywhere you look, and mechanical repairs to systems.

Rooms; our room regularly smelt of sewerage in the mornings, we kept speaking to guest services who repeatedly sent maintenance to our room who stood there smiling pretending they couldn't smell the problem - the smell was so bad in one of our group room they had to move from a balcony to an interior - and had to fight to get carnival to even refund the difference in price! after four separete attempts with guest services to deal with the issue in our room they claimed it had been fixed. Unsurprisingly it wasn't. They eventually admitted it was a ship wide issue that could not be fixed until the ship goes into dry dock. One lady actually had sewerage leaking into the bathroom. Disgusting.
