This was our 8th cruise with Oceania and our first after the pandemic. Some have mentioned that the ship decor is dated, which I agree with, however, I heard they are renovating the ship in a few months. The restaurants were great as usual - my favorite was Jacques. The spa was wonderful and the cooking class was a lot of fun.
While there are still many things to love about Oceania - the rooms are spacious and the food is awesome, the specialty restaurants are free and most of the staff could not be nicer - they are definitely struggling with getting back to normal after the pandemic. There were logistics issues with tendering into port, disembarking etc. Also, as I have found in the past, their destination services staff is not friendly at all and downright combative at times. The remaining staff tried very hard to be helpful and accommodating, however, I felt they were not fully trained and sometimes it was difficult to get them to give you a beverage and our butler was reactive, not proactive. Disembarking was a nightmare - very unlike Oceania who have always been spot on with logistics and the general manager was nasty to the passengers who were just trying to get their luggage and catch their planes. Tendering in Dublin was also a mess and caused us to miss just about everything in Dublin because we were so late getting off of the ship and had to cut everything short to get back on the ship in time.
I want to call out the outstanding services of several staff members who were awesome when we had a situation with my sister becoming ill and having to be taken off of the ship to a hospital. Juan Carlos could not have been more helpful, keeping in touch with us via text while we were off the ship for a few days and helping us coordinate our return to the ship. The ship's doctor and staff were awesome with my sister and probably saved her life by recommending she leave the ship and go to the hospital.
The cabin is spacious and comfortable. The bed is the BEST - I actually ordered one for my home which you can do through their website. The housekeeping staff is awesome and keeps the room very clean.
Pretty city - take a canal cruise
The port was over an hour from the city so be prepared for a whirlwind tour trying to fit in a lot in a short amount of time.
Absolutely beautiful historic town - a must see.
Visited Rouen - nice town but not much to see. If you go to Paris, be prepared for a long drive to get there and back with limited time to visit the city.
Tender took forever and no time to tour the town. Port is outside of city and the ship had to anchor very far out in the water.
Pretty town - people are VERY nice.
a must-see! Beautiful city and beautiful vineyards and villages.
Nice town - surprised by quaint squares and pretty coastline
Beautiful city with charming winding streets and port area. Just walk around and enjoy!
