We give Princess a very high score for this cruise. We had a couple of 'niggles' which I will tell you about later, but these were not with the ship or its company & crew. Having previously cruised with smaller and more intimate ships I had concerns that 'Star' would be too big and unfriendly. This is not the case. Large yes, but all of her crew we found to be so helpful, smiley, good humoured and efficient. The ship herself beautiful, and she soon became a home from home and a welcome sight after a busy day sight seeing.

Embarkation was painless. just 45 mins after arriving at Copenhagen we were outside the ship. 25 mins later we were in our cabin. Cases arrived half an hour later. # niggle # Princess made our aircraft booking as a group booking for all passengers flying to join this cruise, which gave the two of us problems at Heathrow trying to check in. This also gave us big problems at Copenhagen airport on the return as none of our details were recognised on their computer systems. We had also been unable to check in from our home pc the night before for the same reason. I will be following this up with Princess.

All food on board was of a superb quality. For the evenings we had chosen the more formal fixed dining time / table. Friendships were soon formed with new dining companions and our most excellent waiter. Some meals were a little bit fancy, but all cooked and tasted wonderful. For breakfast and other meals we used the 24hr buffet. This catered more for the American market ( and American waistlines - some people just piled it high !! ) but still we enjoyed the food. Finding a table could be a challenge here at busy times as some guests would not leave after their meal and chose to sit and watch the views from their dining table while the staff found tables elsewhere for waiting diners.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BB

Lovely cabin. Plenty of hanging space for clothes etc. Small balcony but ideal for two. Some noise early in the morning as chairs / tables were being dragged across the floor above ( pool area ? ). Bathroom small but perfectly functional. Views from balcony brilliant, however, would often be shaded by deck overhang above so did not get as much sunshine as lower balconies - but also was not overlooked as lower balconies.
