We usually travel on Celebrity's new ships, most recently enjoying the retreat, so we can't compare SS to other luxury lines. The food was excellent - but you need to make reservations in advance to get the times/venue you prefer. Service was excellent. Compared to Celebrity retreat, SS food and service were much better (to us). Many restaurant choices and always someone asking us if we need anything.
Internet was poor but we had not upgraded to premium - standard internet was hardly usable. They did say they were doing an overhaul on the internet this year - moving to Starlink. Shore excursions were poor - we actually cancelled the last couple because they weren't worth our time. I would be careful counting on SS shore excursions if you really wanted to experience the port. We booked SS again for the caribbean since shore excursions are not especially important to us there. Embarkation was surprisingly not as smooth as on Celebrity's Apex - they need to look at how the big ships do it to cut down on the steps (it wasn't bad, but they could easily make it excellent). Entertainment isn't important to us, but the friends we travelled with said it was weak. My husband likes to gamble, he had fun in the casino but it is really small. We liked the gym.
