Note - rating is low due to Tracy Arm - not Ketchikan 
Ketchikan - light rain / chilly - At last minute we did the Lumberjack show - yes we know it is a tourist thing to do, but it was entertaining, and inexpensive. Otherwise, this is probably the place to do shopping - 
Tracy Arm - Sunny / cool - this is not really listed as a destination, just scenic cruising. This was our greatest disappointment. Reading other reviews, we though that we would cruise to the end of the fjord, see the glacier, spin around and return. WRONG!!! The ship stopped miles short of the glacier - didn't even see it. There is an optional excursion on a smaller boat available which would have taken us to the end - but we did not see this option as it is listed as an excursion for Juneau. Unsure of the cost, but we would have probably been willing to take this excursion if it had been better advertised. 


Ketchikan

Juneau - Sunny / 70s perfect - Arrived in afternoon following Tracy Arm. We opted for excursion of Mendenhall Glacier & Whale Watching. Mendenhall Glacier is not far from Juneau, operated by the Park Service $4 entry fee included in the excursion. It is worth seeing. You may be able to access by taxi if cost is competitive vs the excursion. 
Our Whale watching experience was awesome. The tour operator was a very professional company with good staff. We saw a number of humpback whales, and followed a group of "local" Orcas for quite a distance. We also viewed a colony of sea lions on their habitat, and eagles etc. 


Juneau

Skagway - we opted for the White Pass Railway / Yukon Explorer excursion. The railway is probably a worthwhile trip - pretty scenery. 
The bus portion of the yukon explorer is a tourist trap. A long bus ride to see nothing, mediocre lunch at a place featuring taxidermy & dog sled kennel. A stop at a place called CarCross - we have no idea why we stopped there unless they pay Princess money for the business. 


Skagway

If you want to see the glacier calving - go to Glacier Bay or at least take the optional excursion at the end of Tracy Arm.Mendenhall Glacier is not far from Juneau, operated by the Park Service $4 entry fee included in the excursion.
