France's Finest included two cruises, we started in Paris with a cruise on the Seine on the Viking Radgrid. We were not overly impressed with this cruise but hoped the second cruise would be special. But it was not, in fact it wasn't as good as the first.
For both cruises we had high expectations that were not met. The Delling is bigger than the Radgrid and it seemed as if the crew struggled with the added passengers. Except for the embarkation buffet the food was often disappointing. On both cruises much of the food was too salty. I couldn't eat the scrambled eggs, too salty! Not everyone agreed but many did. Some people had cruised with Viking before, they said this was not up to the standards they'd experienced before.
Ship and room were very nice. Housekeeping was excellent. Managers were great. Service staff was often weak. Hard to get service if you did not follow the meal schedule. If you sat in the same table and had a good server it was very good. If you moved around, like we did, or came later like we did, service might be good or might not be.
Response from VikingS, Community Team
We had a balcony that we did enjoy. Everything worked well and room was very clean. TV wasn't always reliable but we were not on the trip to watch TV.
Only critique was the cover blanket, it was too small. If you rolled over you could easily pulled cover off your partner!
