Since we'd never sailed with Azamara before, we thought we'd give them a try. We'd seen a few vlogs which impressed us.
We booked in February 2022. The prices - which also included flights from the UK - were very good. We chose a Club Continent Suite. And this included a very generous $1000 onboard credit. Shortly after receiving the confirmation, I spotted that the itinerary was missing the transfer back the airport after disembarkation. I assumed it was simply an oversight. I was assured that it was and that a new schedule would be issued. When it didn't arrive, I called again. This time it arrived immediately with all transfers shown.
When I paid the balance of the cruise, the invoice I received showed that a small amount was still outstanding despite paying the amount requested. I called back to query this to be told that I had indeed paid off the balance. After being placed on hold, the Azamara representative told me that there was still a balance to pay. While waiting, I added up the amounts to find that the amount I'd been asked to pay wasn't sufficient. This was partly due to being charged an additional £80 for the transfer which was missing. But the figures still didn't add up even when this was removed. Azamara still expected me to pay the amount requested and offered to credit the £80 discrepancy to our onboard account. Since we already had $1000 I said no to this. As far as I was concerned a deal's a deal and I wasn't prepared to pay any more than the original price agreed. I was told that someone would call me back. When they didn't I had to call again. By this time I was more than irritated and Azamara eventually accepted my point and I paid the correct amount.
A Club Continent Suite. We were very pleased with it since it was very spacious, clean and bright. The only criticism was that the handle to the patio door was extremely loose. For a ship that had only just been refurbished this was poor.
