My wife and I have cruised four times before. Twice op Carnival and twice on NCL. We were very excited to book our first Celebrity cruise, however I have to say the experience definitely didn't match the hype! Like other posters have said, the ship is somewhat outdated, but overall we thought the ship held up pretty well for its age.

For us the dining was a disaster! We ate in the dining room twice and it was terrible. Bad food and bad overall execution as far as plans that I had laid out well before our cruise started (30th anniversary and wanting to sit alone without sharing a table with complete strangers). The Oceanview Cafe wasn't that bad. We actually enjoyed for the most part the quality of food. The true bright spot was the Tuscan Grille. Jerry, our server, was outstanding! The food was truly amazing from the Starter to the Dessert.

Here is where I had the issue with my cruise. Frankly I don't appreciate being nickel and dimed throughout the cruise. And here on the Solstice, they love doing that. For starters they gave me the wrong drink package that I had initially requested. They put me in the Premium N/A plan when I had requested the Classic plan. The funny thing was, that I asked since I was in the Premium plan, why was i getting the crap bottled water and not the Premium bottled water? They replied by saying, "Did you ask for it?" Really? Your charging me for it but I also have to ask for it? Ridiculous! I also don't appreciate trying to be schmoozed up on the last night of the cruise by dining staff asking for "10's" on the review process. If you have to ask for it on the last night, then obviously you didn't do enough throughout the cruise to warrant it!

Nice. Just your standard Veranda Stateroom.
