Chose this cruise to use up our credits from a previously cancelled cruise due to COVID. Chose Alaska since it wouldn't require us to fly to the port. As we were boarding, we were given an updated itinerary that stated we wouldn't be cruising the glacier due to "lack of sunlight". Royal should be able to figure out if they can offer a cruise or not due to lack of sunlight! It felt like a bait/switch.
This sort of poor excuse summed up Royal's response to a number of issues on board including app not working, internet not working (that we paid for), toilets not working etc. The response from crew for each was "wait and see". I just want to be clear that I have never had issues like this with any other cruise.
The dining room food was inedible at times (I only ate the vegetarian options). The buffet was better but after a week of the same options, it was getting old/boring. No labeling of vegetarian items...even Taco Bell can manage that!
Room was well designed and spacious. Bathroom was good sized. We enjoyed having a balcony.
