This was our first river cruise and first time traveling post-COVID. Scenic exceeded our expectations. Service was excellent. Staff could not have been more attentive. Having several tour choices in each port was a treat. Salzburg luncheon and show was held in an eye opening location, just like the movie. Concert at Palais LIchtenstein was the highlight of the cruise. All meals were varied and well presented. Lunch was often just as good or better than dinner, emphasizing local cuisine. My only disappointment was the wine service. Actually, not the service, which was always very efficient and accommodating. But the wines mostly tasted sour, like they were left in the fridge too long. The chef proudly showed off his selections at the nightly port talk. But no one mentioned the wines; I suppose because it would be hard to get enthusiastic about any of them. We mostly tried to stick to mixed drinks, which never disappointed.

Cabin Review

The extra space of the deluxe balcony cabin was worth the cost. Plus location near the front of the ship was excellent. Plenty of room to store our large bags under the bed. Enough drawers and shelves to accommodate all our clothes. Shower was very large. Toilet seat was comfortably high. Nice to have a fully stocked fridge, and of course a butler to handle any incidentals.

Port Reviews

Amsterdam

We took the trip to see the windmills and visit a very interesting town, Aakmaal. Lots of local upscale shops.
