I chose to go on the Carnival Liberty because I got a great price and the port was close to my home. I've lost count on the number of cruises I've been on since the 1980s, my best guess is close to 90 cruises.
Check in was a breeze. I had the 10:00-10:30 am time slot and was through in less than 10 minutes. They do not board the ship until after 11:00 am, so if you have an early check in, you will wait in the waiting area for awhile.
I read previous comments about how the ship was worn and showing its age. I didn't see any of that and I was looking. The carpeting was in good shape as was the furniture throughout the ship. I did see one tiny rust spot on Deck 3 starboard and that was it. The ship's decor is okay but not up to today's trendy standards, and if that's the most important aspect of a cruise, then the Liberty may not be for you.
