This was our 3rd Silversea cruise but our first post Covid. Things have changed and our great expectations based on previous voyages were sorely dashed by Silversea. Their delivery of customer service and quality, the main things that used to attract one to their cruise brand, has deteriorated massively since out last cruise with them pre Covid. Organizational capability and on board managerial competence has declined to mass market levels. Maybe this is due to the changing ownership as well. I will never book with them again and many people on my cruise I talked to at the end of the trip said likewise. They mis-sell continually, from the ability of a room to sleep 3 people to the quality of food and wine on board. Contacting them by phone or email is a nightmare and getting a consistent answer difficult.
Booking (via our agent Sixstar) was incredibly difficult. This basic cruise package has you arriving in the evening of 25th in Istanbul and boarding early pm the next day, with no tours available to book in this great city. At the end they kick you off the ship early in the morning and no tours are made available if your flight is late in the day untill you are well into the actual voyage. Not unreasonably we tried to book an extra night in Istanbul and Athens as part of the deal through Silversea. This delayed our booking for some weeks, and it became obvious they just did not have the wit to book more rooms in the same hotel or one nearby (this is an area with many 5 star hotels within a small area).
The room is tight for 3 but manageable on a cruise with only 1 at sea day as long as you don’t order room service (which may or may not come).
Bed, shower , storage space etc fine
3rd Bed set up definitely not suitable for a 3rd person over 5ft tall or above about 8 years old.
