This cruise was initially headed to Alaska and Japan (cancelled Russia), however the itinerary changed and we went to Alaska and then to Hawaii. We had 12 days total at sea, and the staff made it fun. Always something to do. Loads of goodies to eat provided by the most top notch staff we've had.
Had some very rough seas, but that was actually pretty interesting. Saw cool sea creatures. The ship was only 1/3 full, and those that cancelled really missed out.
Some sites had more of a relaxed atmosphere and really enjoyed it. We were met in Dutch Harbor with school buses and volunteers to show us around. Our bus was driven by a teacher and it was interesting to see/hear how people live on what is essentially one not-that-large rock. You have to be made of sterner stuff to live there.
Our bed was very hard but once we realized we could have a pillow top it was outstanding. The staff who kept our room up (Ann and a very delightful, thorough gentleman ?Bede) were exemplary. We were in room 6074.
I apologize for not knowing some of the names of the staff, but had vision issues as forced to wear older glasses. And I hate to stare.
