Sail Date: Oct 2022
Cabin: Deluxe Veranda Stateroom

This was our 7th cruise but the first one on Viking. We picked "Trade Routes of the Middle Ages" due to its 7-country itinerary and Viking's reputation for service. Viking impressed us in all areas and we'll definitely sail with them again in the future.

Services:

1. We missed our flight connection in Amsterdam (AMS) partly due to our own fault getting lost and Viking Air giving us only a 70-minute transit time. When we finally found a KLM representative they basically told us to wait and do nothing until we were automatically rescheduled. I called the Viking Air emergency line and they got us rebooked and walked us through what to tell KLM so that our checked bag would be rerouted to our new flight. Without the emergency line I doubt we would have been able to be rescheduled that day. AMS Schipol Airport is severely understaffed and those who remain couldn't seem to care less about helping stranded passengers.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda Stateroom

Our cabin (4107) seemed to pick up a lot of vibrations even in moderately high seas. If you can afford it I would recommend you pick a cabin in the middle of the ship and as high up as possible. Our cabin was nicely appointed and immaculately clean. Our cabin stewards, Agun and Slam (sp?) were attentive to our needs and kept the cabin clean and tidy throughout our 14-day stay.
