April 2022 Timing was right …. It was an ad hogue booking…. Food was poor at few available sources, it was my 3x on the Allure. I found it ok… u make the best of it and enjoy yourself. I in general, was satisfied with the service and the food in the main dining room at dinner and lunch time. The buffet was a hit and miss due to inconsistency in quality, temperature, selection of food items as Well as service. The two food venues by the carousel were either closed, had only one choice of horrible hot dos or none at all when everything else was closed on embarkation day.

The balcony cabin was fine, so was the service. Nothing outstanding nor undesirable. Room service for breakfast in general was complete and on time. Item forgotten to include were timely rectified. I enjoy ABBA’s music, it’s musical was well done at the main stage, so was the outdoor water show. My daughter sailed on her for the second time after I had introduced her to the ship prior to the pandemic, sailing with her husband. Neither of them liked the ship particularly then, nor did my daughter now. Overall, an amazing vessel that unfortunately lacks flair, finesse and ambiance. Hence, we were looking for a February 2023 mother daughter cruise again and my daughter refused to consider RCCL, so we chose a 21 day run on the Rotterdam mid Febr.

Unfortunately, the larger the new vessels get, however stunning, marvelous as a creation, they more and more loose the connection and feeling of an ocean sailing experience. Hence, the smaller ships (unfortunately being sold off or scraped) still are our most desirable cruising choice, though they soon will be only remembered as something ancient from the past…. Lol.
