We were recommended the Douro river by friends we met on our last cruise and having been on most European rivers we decided to take up their recommendation. We chose Scenic because we have been on a few of their holidays and like the package they offer as well as the service from boarding onwards. We have to add that they a not very 'user friendly' company beforehand with documents etc arriving at the last minute and they are a nightmare to contact.

Onto this particular cruise and it was everything we were told it would be along the Douro Valley. The cruise ship was great and the staff headed by the Hotel Manager and Cruise Director were a joy to spend the cruise with. The food and wine were excellent, the wait staff, cleaners - you name it - were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble and everything delivered with good humour and a smiling face, Nice one Scenic!!
