This was our first Viking Cruise. My husband and I have done over 35 ocean cruises. I chose Viking because of their reputation and we liked the itinerary. This was a rebooking from a covid cancellation. We did the Prague pre cruise package.

Pre cruise: We arrived in Prague on Thursday. The Prague airport felt new and very clean. The line for customs was long, but moved pretty fast. The Viking rep was waiting for us and after the entire group was through customs. We stayed at the Art Nouveau hotel in Prague. This was a lovely hotel in a great location. Google said 10 minutes walking from our hotel to Old Town - it took us probably half that time. If I were to come back here (when) I would stay at this hotel again. Rooms are typical European - small, but nice. Lovely continental breakfast - eggs, bacon, fruit, pastries. A city tour was included. Our tour guide was wonderful. We purchased 3 tours - Prague folklore tour, panoramic night tour, and Terazin concentration camp. I would not do the night tour again. It was basically the day tour, but at night. We liked the guide but not the tour. Prague folklore tour was lots of fun - there was a show with traditional music, costumes, singing and dancing. Good food. Terezin - historical tour - interesting, but be prepared - it is sad history so it is a bit of a downer. On Sunday, we prepared to leave Prague for Passau, Germany. We were originally supposed to leave at 10:30 am because it is a 4 hour bus ride to Passau. Some people in our group signed up for an optional tour and instead of them coming later to Passau - they made an entire group of people (40-45) wait for 2. We left Prague at about 1pm and missed a half day introduction tour in Passau. I thought Viking should not have inconvenienced all of us for a couple of people.

Viking Cruise: When we got to Passau, the staff was ready for us. We checked in and were escorted to our cabin. This was a rebook due to covid, so we received a 25% bonus which we applied to a room upgrade a French balcony to a balcony. The room was much smaller than we expected. The bathroom is really small. The nice thing is the bathroom has heated floors. The closet was very small - I really overpacked. Viking is relatively casual - I brought dress clothes I thought I might wear as we were celebrating our anniversary. Because it was so casual, we didn't feel comfortable.

Veranda Superior

This was a rebook due to covid, so we received a 25% bonus which we applied to a room upgrade from a French balcony to a balcony. The room was much smaller than we expected. The bathroom is really small. The nice thing about the bathroom is it has heated floors. Upgraded amenities - Freya - lotion, shampoo and conditioner. They also provide filtered bottled water and you have a mini fridge. The closet was very small - I really overpacked. Viking is relatively casual - I brought dress clothes I thought I might wear as we were celebrating our anniversary. Because it was so casual, we didn't feel comfortable dressing up so they stayed in the closet.
