We were actually booked on the maiden voyage of the Polars from the Artic to Antarctic. The cruise was canceled due to the ship not being ready in time. We had the timeframe carved out so we looked for an alternative itinerary. The Viking Venus with the Iceland extension fit the timeframe.

As with all Viking ships, the staff was extraordinary. We especially enjoyed our captain who was a fellow equestrian and our cabin attendants, Krishna and Ronald. However, we were extremely unimpressed with the social director who came on board before the end of the trip. We found her attitude extremely condescending and somewhat insulting.

The food on this ship was the best cruise ship food we've ever had! We have been on over two dozen ships and have frequented Michelin star restaurants all over the world. We were very impressed with the Chef's Table and Manfredi's as well as the other dining choices on board. Again, the restaurant staff was attentive, knowledgeable and made the experience enjoyable.

Penthouse Junior Suite with Balcony

Fantastic. We can't say a single negative thing about the beautifully appointed penthouse suite nor it's incredible staff that took great care of us. We loved the Freya toiletries.
