If you are English speaking and want to take shore excursions don't book a cruise in Europe with Costa, Due to the lack of Numbers of English-speaking passengers there are very few excursions that are available, but you don't know that until you are on board and in most cases, you are advised a day or two before. The tours that you may be able to go on are with a guide who speaks at least 2 languages. There is no advice or assistance from the MY TOURS department as to what is available at the port.
The food was a mixture of quality and in the buffet was at times quite cold. Extras such as sauce etc were not in sight at the breakfast buffet and if requested there or at the restaurants in most cases were advised it was not available. An annoying thing at the restaurants at dinner was your choice of drinks seemed to be limited and you had to go and purchase certain drinks eg asti you were told to go and buy them from the bar. There seemed to be a lack of training with quite a lot of the waiters as at breakfast you received your cereal and hot food at the same time.
Positives were the hotel and restaurant staff were friendly and our balcony stateroom was larger than MSC. The room however was only serviced in the morning and there was no sign of our cabin steward any other time.
Good size but only serviced once a day
