We chose this cruise because we wanted to visit places where the leaves were changing, and for the most part, we were able to see the beautiful colors (several of the Canadian stops had been hit hard by a hurricane 2 weeks prior). We chose Norwegian because we had a previous wonderful cruise on the Breakaway.
We were very disappointed by the Pearl. Frankly, our group of six found the ship very boring. Entertainment, with the notable exception of an acrobatic couple on the last night, was rather amateurish. There were 3 nightclub singers/duos that played constantly, and you were tired of hearing them after the first night. No variety, or ability to get an audience interested. One of the solo singer/guitarists spent more time recording sound loops for his songs than he did playing them.
If you are Gluen Free, this is NOT the ship for you. Some nights the dinners in the main dining rooms did not include GF options (other than a standard steak with French fries or salad). You are told you have to order GF meals the day before.the buffet was even difficult on occasion. One night all the meats were breaded or had a gravy containing wheat. When asked whst GF options were available, you were pointed to the salad bar, or plain piece of chicken or hamburger. They also would offer to make a cardboard cheese pizza if you wanted. I don't understand why they wouldn't include at least one new GF option at each meal.
