We got this cruise on the hero’s sail free promotion and only had to pay for the fees and port expenses. With that in mind I could not imagine paying full price for this cruise and feel bad for all the people that did.
The check in process was simple and they had signs on where to go. We arrived shortly after 10:30 and only made reservations for JWB Steakhouse. We purchased the swimming with the pigs excursion in advance and (thankfully) did not purchase the drink package. After check in was complete, we waited approximately 2 hours in a tiny and overcrowded waiting area. There was very limited seating and we were told we were going to be let on the ship around 11:00 but that proved to be false.
After boarding the ship you could immediately tell it was very old and outdated. We explored the whole ship while our rooms were getting ready. We were let into our rooms around 2:00pm. The rooms were a subtle improvement over the ship and were on par with other cruise lines, however it seems they completely forgot to remodel the bathroom as it was falling apart. The door to our bathroom was broken, the sink was dirty, the shower had stains and low water pressure, and the floor was old and smelly. Not to mention when you turn on the shower water goes all over the bathroom floor.
