So this cruise was booked and rebooked since 2020.... But finally it was time! Alaska has not been a big bucket list destination for us. But on the list of " want to see and try". We are from Norway and have fjords and mountains. So this is not new to us. We are also very happy to be outdoor, kayaking, hiking in the mountains and go fishing.
So Alaska has several things we like and they offer a great mixture off all things we enjoy home in Norway.
The Alaska cruise was booked as a b2b. So we continued onward to Hawaii. I will leave one report for Alaska and one for Hawaii.
Good location and well kept.
We took the gondola to the top. Beautiful view. The canning factory is rebuild as a shopping mall.... Okey, but really not our favorite. Book a ocean trip/whale safari etc. We had lots of whales around the ship, so nice to follow from the balcony on return onboard after our trip on the gondola and canning factory.
Really beautiful, we had perfect weather. Very walkable and easy to DIY.
Take the train, what a ride in nice weather. And use the last cart of the train. You have perfect location for pictures.
Spend some days pre or post cruise. Lots to see and do. Eat at Granville Market. Lots of options. Take a trip to Grouse mountain and Capilano suspension brigde.
You need to take the shuttle to the city centre. Go for a walk in the totem forest. Book a tour on Kayak or do something outdoor.
Great to take walk to the whale monument, book a tour. We did bike & brew. We biked to mexndelhall glacier, great tour and then had beer tasting. Lots of options.
