Our cruise on the new Viking expedition ship Octantis took us from Milwaukee through Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, Georgian Bay, Lake Superior and eventually concluding at Thunder Bay.

Chose this cruise as it was not only a wonderful Viking cruise but also an adventurous nature-oriented experience. We enjoyed riding in zodiacs and special operations boats. Several nature walks, hiking, and also a painting class.

Ship, cabin, food, wine, crew, guests, everything was excellent. My wife has a some food allergies. All the food was labeled with dietary information. Plenty of healthy options were available. All activities, including opportunities to interact with research projects, shore excursions, nature and biology ventures were so superb. I was even able to ride in a research submarine. We have enjoyed several river cruises over the years. This was our first on an expedition ship cruise. We plan to join more Viking expedition ships adventures in the future.
