This is a third cruise with Viking, first pandemic cruise.

1) Paris hotel at the start of the tour was brand new, beautiful, large rooms, and perfect location. Day 1 breakfast was chaotic - obviously was not ready for 150 passengers descending on them at the same time. Some passengers had to do without to make it on time for the tour. Day 2 was an improvement.

2) Cruise - the staff, as usual, worked hard for us to have a great cruise. Despite some concerns with water levels before the cruise, prior rains provided us with smooth sailing. A river lock issue caused us to bypass one of the stops, but that is beyond Viking's control.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Stateroom

We always got an E category room since we often stayed topside, or we are on a tour. They are roomy enough for 2 people.

On this ship, we had an issue with sewage smell in our bathroom. A cruise staffer promptly came and poured something into the drain that addressed it. My family were in 2 other E category rooms adjacent and across from us. They had the same issue. One of the rooms had to be treated twice.
